For some reason, I always think I can be a fast stitcher — ha, ha, ha.  Or in this case, ho, ho, ho!!

This is Santa at about 14,400 stitches with almost 6,000 stitches remaining I am really hoping that I can wrap up this project before Halloween.  qs christmas presence 28sept2015I am more than a little anxious to get started on my new project….spilled blood

Church of the Savior of the Spilled Blood Class Project

What was in the box?? This is a counted needlepoint project that is an online class that I am taking via the Shining Needle Society.  The classroom is open but I am stuck on Santa and don’t plan to start until the jolly guy is done!!

6000 by Hallowe’en! That’s amazing. How many hours do you stitch a day??

    • janicelynn says:

on work days i am lucky to get 1 to 2 hours daily. but weekends i will sometimes stitch all day — maybe 8 or more hours. i never count my hours since i am so easily distracted!! last month i completed about 4800 stitches but much was very confetti intense.

This is amazing! I’ve never tried parking, how do you avoid all tht thread becoming tangled?

    • janicelynn says:

sometimes i get a little tangled but not often. i wrap the bottom scroll rod of the piece with fabric and tuck in the threads as a section is finished. i tend to work in groups of 10 to 20 stitches. you can see the fabric at the bottom of the pic.

  3. It’s looking really great! I’m glad to see I’m not the only person who works from a printed out chart and crayons!! 🙂
