First Finished Project of 2015 — Nantucket Afghan

This is my first finish of the new year, it has been my football project.  Like many knitters, I can knit without looking and that allows me to watch the games and listen to the commentary without having to hit rewind or wait for a replay.

The pattern is a freebie from Caron yarns and you can find it here.  It has a small variety of simple stitches — stockinette, moss,  and garter.

I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in color buff fleck.  I got a little carried away and made it quite long so it finished at 48 inches by 83 inches.  Very good for someone tall.  I plan to donate it to a fun raiser for a local non-profit.

There is probably enough yarn left over so that I can make a scarf.   Off to look for patterns…
