Jack’s Log Cabin Quilt

Jack’s Log Cabin Quilt

Last night I finished sewing the binding on Jack’s quilt.  I love this quilt!  Ok, it’s true that every time I finish a quilt it becomes my new favorite — but — I have never thought about making another version of a completed quilt until this one.

I used a high loft poly batting so that there would be a bit a puff to the quilt with easy care.  The quilting was done on my Elna using the walking foot.  The stitch length was set at 2.8, the thread was Gutermann 50 weight cotton rather than the Signature 40 weight cotton I usually use (leftovers from my long arm days).  I was concerned that it would be too thin and not visible enough — I think it looks great.

There was ample fabric left and I made two coordinating pillow cases.  I used the burrito method without the accent fabric.
