Jack’s Log Cabin Quilt

During the past week, the majority of my stitching/sewing time was spent with Jack’s quilt.  Log cabin quilts are among my favorite — make it bright and with flannel and it is bound to be fabulous!!

These are the center blocks.  I have added one row to the original design making the overall size 7 inches longer – finished size will be about 43″ x 50″.

If you have ever made a log cabin quilt and the blocks have turned into parallelograms rather than squares you are not alone!!  The easiest way to keep that from happening is to cut your log strips to size for each and every piece and be sure to pin before you stitch.  It will take a little longer but the finished result will be worth it.
